Emergancy dress needed - uninspired

Hi all

I now have an important work meeting this week and nothing fits. Been looking around and uninspired (not sure if time of year) so thought would ask for ideas!

It can be smart/casual- definitely not suited/tailoring. Likely to wear with chunky black boots, heeled ankle boots or ballet flats with strap

I am late 30s, tall, carry all weight round middle post baby’s (hips, tummy, chest) and go between 14/16.

Feeling frumpy and like everything makes me look very big round middle and chest.

I normally like Whistles, Hush, M&S, Arket, Cos

Don’t tend to be a fan of animal prints, frills, big sleeves…

Ideally need something delivered asap. Am I asking too much

Budget?

But is there really nothing in the brands you list? It took 2 seconds to find this.

I have found these tie waist round neck dresses really flattering throughout a range of sizes and with an apple shape, helps that they're also really comfortable and have pockets. I do like big bold prints but they have plain and more muted prints too.

White Stuff Rua dress. Very forgiving and can be dressed up or down. I have a long sleeved one and short sleeved ones for work. A simple jacket or smart cardigan works well, opaques, and ankle boots in winter, sandals in summer.

My workplace rocks Mary Beard and I am regarded as classic and tidy unimaginative and probably a bit frumpy

Thanks @RosesAndHellebores - will take a look. @IHaveAlwaysLivedintheCastle budget probably up to £150. Love that dress but think the cos boxy/oversize dress may make chest/arms seem much bigger

Thanks @InfoSecInTheCity - I know people love Popsy but just not for me!

The thing with Cos is that you have to try their stuff on. It often looks much better on than off.

As it’s last min, sadly can’t get to store for a good try on and inspiration in person

I'm a 14 on a good day and a 16 on a bad. Admittedly I'm not particularly busty but I'm honestly not convinced that clothes make wearers seem bigger or smaller than they really are.

Forgive me but I can’t imagine what sort of workplace would find the Popsy dresses impressive?

Perhaps they’re comfortable - but they don’t look like work wear to me.
