Hours at Hairdresser

I have a question for hairdressers as I’ve been sitting at my salon now for two hours just getting roots done. Is it normal to be waiting this long? I feel that my stylist has three people she is working on at the same time and I have been prioritised last (very loyal customer) Is that normal? My stylist really knows my hair and does a great job but I find it so long to be waiting.

I've just changed my hairdresser due to this. It was getting longer and longer! It's greed, squeezing in as many as possible. My new one just sees me and dd together colour on me, cuts dds hair, finishes mine. Both done in 2 hours.

I loathe hairdressers in general. Too much wasted time. But I’ve found a fantastic one who will wash my hair, cut it and blow dry it in around 40 minutes. Ok it’s pricy, but he is one of the top stylists. And I absolutely love him.

40 minutes is amazing, which is what mine used to be, I noticed it’s getting longer and longer so that the average time is 2.5 hours with 3 or 4 people. It’s a rip off, especially in Ireland, and all of these salons got huge subsidies during and after Covid. I definitely will need to look around for a great stylist who doesn’t do lots of people at once!

Time - and the cost - is why I’ve not let myself get hooked on highlights or any colour. I tend to experiment at home 🙈, I have the time but don’t want to spend it sitting in a salon.

My hairdresser (cut) often keeps me waiting. On the one hand I’m glad she takes her time over the previous person and I think it can be hard to organise all the appointments. But it’s annoying especially as I don’t live far and could have just come later.

I had a full head of highlights and a cut and blow dry recently and I was in the salon around 2.5 hours, or perhaps a bit longer. It was a new salon and stylist to me, so we had a chat first about what I wanted to achieve with the colour and how I wanted my hair cut which took a bit of time, and whilst my hair is quite fine there is a lot of it so it takes ages for the foils to be put in. . I’m only going for a cut and blow dry next time so am expecting only to be in there around an hour.

I’m fairly relaxed in the hairdresser. If I’m having a colour I take my book and have a coffee and use the time to just chill.

My roots take 45 mins to process, my hairdresser told me that the colour stops processing after 45 mins.
2.5 hrs is taking the P.
She's got you hanging around while she's working on other clients.
I wouldn't go back
