Best product to make hair super slippery?

To help someone who wants to get rid of their dreadlocks but save as much hair length as possible! They currently have dreadlocks that reach their knees and haven't been cut for nearly 20 years, they realise it's going to mean a serious cut but are hoping to end up with maybe shoulder length hair. The plan is to cut them all significantly shorter then comb them out.

They're white btw (only mentioning as it is probably relevant to what products might be most suitable!). And for personal reasons they really don't want cropped hair, which is why they haven't done this already as they're so worried about ending up with very short hair.

Argan oil leave in conditioner. Too slippery for my hair.

My hair is dry because it is dyed and I use a few drops of coconut oil on it. I buy the Bodyshop one.

What about wetting the hair and combing through lots of conditioner?

Thanks, will suggest all of these. Weirdly I also remembered how slippery the hedrin nit treatment made my hair when the DC were kind enough to share their nits with me a couple of years ago, I suppose there's no reason not to try that even if no nits are present!! It took me about 4 washes to get rid of the stuff 🙄
