What shoes with Jeans and a nice top?

I have always struggled with this! I feel like I can look smart from the top and then too casual when it comes to my feet 😂 I have a tonne of "jeans and nice tops" but no footwear to go with it

What would you wear? I only wear flats. I'm not used to boots or heels..

It depends where I'm going. I tend to either wear chelsea boots, loafers, leather trainers or sandals. Not a fan of ballet flats

What sort of outfits do you have? And is it for work, a night out, daytime?

Boots are an obvious answer in the winter - plenty of nice, comfortable flat boots that would go with different outfits.

For shoes I’m wearing my chunky burgundy loafers a lot with socks, or a pair of red flat mary janes. I’m looking for some leopard flats at the moment.

are outstanding at the moment.

I wear boots in winter flat or with a slight heel and I would wear flat sandally type shoes in summer or trainers.

Also - if there’s a disconnection between your clothes and the sort of footwear you want to wear - perhaps it’s the clothes that are wrong?

But then, I’m not really an adherent of the ‘jeans and a nice top’ thing.

Ballet flats are usually a decent option and come in pretty much any colour you like.
Also there has never been a better time to wear trainers as going out shoes!

I think the trick is keep your top smart/casual rather then very dressy so there isn't a disconnect between your top half and your bottom half.

I tend to wear flat Mary Janes in 'jeans and a nice top' situations.

Wow some really nice shoes in the links 😮 thank you all! The loafers are a good idea! The boots are really nice too. I don't know why I was thinking they wont suit me because there are lots of styles. Going to do some shoe shopping this weekend 😀 thanks all!

Be prepared for a bit of trial and error when ordering boots and shoes online, obviously. You may have to return and re-order for the right sizes - it doesn’t mean boots don’t suit you, just that sizing is unpredictable.
