North Face type backpack with a waist strap for college

Hi,
I don't know whether this is the right place to post, butI 've already tried The Great outdoors with no luck.

dd's Superdry backpack is no use for carrying heavy textbooks and folders as there is no waist strap to support hwr back, and I would prefer her to have a proper backpack that is comfortable for this purpose.

I have a North Face Jester backpack that was a present to me many, many years ago, that would be ideal as it has several compartments, and a waist and sternum strap. Today's model doesn't seem to. The Borealis does and is the right sort of dimensions, but are there other bags that people can recommend here please, before I part with my money?

Are there really no backpacks in Go Outdoors with no waist strap? I'm surprised to hear that.

My dc went to school in Australia and their school back packs had waist straps but I never once saw any child use one ever.

I mean "The Great Outdoors" topic on the forum. I posted there with no response.

Dd is 17 so she has heavy textbooks for her courses and carries a couple of folders too.

Anyway, yes, she said she wanted a decent backpack and she absolutely would wear the waist strap evening it made her look like she's going ro the Lakes.

Oh I see. Silly me. Maybe try Go Outdoors then!
