Boys school shorts older than age 14! Help!

Hoping for some ideas as to where I can get school shorts (or shorts acceptable for school) larger than age 14 years please!

DS can have plain black shorts for the summer term. He would wear them all year if he could but that’s the rule.
The school requires them to be ‘tailored’ and knee length, plain black.
I have looked at Next and M&S which is where I have always got them before, and they go up to age 14. Ds is only 11 but tall and chunky of thigh/butt with a smaller waist. The age 14 ones from last year are just about ok now but tight around the hips.

I was looking at men’s ranges but there aren’t many about in black, I think chino style would probably be acceptable but the waist is never small enough. Belts are allowed but the kids ones had the elastic inside the waist which was so handy.

Any suggestions as to where I could look would be appreciated! Happy to go online or I’m closest to Reading for in person shopping. Thanks so much!

What is his actual trouser size? Or waist/hip/height.

Can you sew? I would cut some long ones and sew the hem.

I have time now. Once school is back next week I will have 2 weekends before the Easter holidays to take him out as I will be at work for the others, then we are away at Easter. So it’s logistics, that’s all. It might seem early to some.

Measurements for those who asked:
waist 26 inches
hips 34 inches
inside leg 29 inches (less of a concern for shorts)

Agree, pointless looking for this now.

Try Australian or New Zealand retailers!

My father, at Varndean in Brighton, at the end of the 1920s, was excused shorts, allowed to wear long'uns, the only one in his year, because of sizing problems. I think they chafed.
