But what on earth is a muffin top?

the podgy bit that sticks out over the top of trousers / jeans / anything with a waistband

it's the roll of fat alot of us have that comes over your jeans thus likje the top of a muffin over its' case.

Well, you know those muffins baked in a paper case have a bit that spills over into a mushroomy shape? Some people's bellies do the same if they're wearing tight trousers and a short top - I think that's what it means, anyway...

Simon Cowell doesn't have one as he wears his trousers too high (I expect), but men can have them too
