Long warm dressing gown with hood?

HI there, I've got to go into hospital for a while and then will be bed bound for a while after. I'm looking for a really lovely warm ankle length dressing gown with a hood that makes me feel nice. I'm quite tall - 5,9" and around a size 14 usually. I really like dark colours - midnight blue, emerald green etc. I saw a lovely gown on Next with their Kew Gardens print, will try to find a link, but they don't have it in my size. I've been Googling for days and am at giving up point.

I like this. It doesn't have a hood but it looks not too 'ill person' if you know what I mean? Might as well be unwell glamorously. Unfortunately I think I'd need the large but it only goes up to a medium.

Try long tall sally for long dressing gown.

I have this Long Tall Sally one. It's very warm and snuggly and was great when I recently got out of hospital:

I'm also 5'9" and it's ankle length on me.

Sorry, just realised it's out of stock in your size but you could try their website or one of the other colours.

That looks really nice! I think 18-20 might be a bit big for me although maybe it doesn't matter with a dressing gown?

My dd is 6 ft and had White Conpany one. It’s calf lower calf length on her and is cotton. It’s gorgeous.

I’d been looking for a full length dressing gown and got a waffle one off Long Tall Sally. It is lovely and soft and warm.

Im 5’8” and got a size 14-16. I’ve had to pin the hem up a bit as I kept treading on it going upstairs!

Expensive, but worth it. I have had mine years, washes beautifully. I was given an M&S one as a present, gave it the charity. This is amazing

PS I am tall too.

That IS nice and they do it in navy blue. How tall are you and how long is it on you?

It pains me to say this as I hate the place but my longest, warmest dressing gown came from Primark.

DemiSec9 · 17/02/2025 12:36

I've looked at these but I look really awful in grey - It washes me out.

5'10 and roughly 10cm above my ankles. It is really cosy.

DemiSec9 · 17/02/2025 12:48

That is lovely but not the right colours for me.

It's 'one size' - does that fit someone who's not super slim, I'm a size 14-16 comfortably.

Yes it would definately fit you. I am size 14. I hate tight shoulders, have swimmers shoulders and it isn't tight at all.

ComealongSpring · 17/02/2025 15:09

Let me know how you find it if you do buy it. I adore mine.

Me too! (swimmers shoulders I mean) - so few women's clothes are good for wider shoulders and tall women.

I'm ordering it now :)

Was it the £22 one?
I have that and its just the nicest dressing gown ever! Really soft and thick, pockets, roomy and the hood is so cosy.
They currently have it in charcoal grey I think.

Well worth a look!

My experience of hospitals are that they can be quite hot.

I know but I often don't get under the covers there and my flat is very cold so I was thinking about when I get home as well. If I had lots of money I'd buy a lighter one and a warmer one but I don't.

TK Maxx had some lovely emerald green ones when I was in the other day.
