DP paid for me to have a pedicure today and it went wrong …twice. I really seem to have bad luck with my nails so rarely do them. Has anyone found a really foolproof way to apply nail varnish that’s long lasting and doesn’t take ages?

If you're going to do them yourself at home with regular polish you need a quick drying top coat. Sally Hansen Insta Dri or Seche Vite.

You can't wear shoes after a pedicure OP. I would get an afternoon pedicure and wear flip flops for the rest of the day, then shoes should be ok for the following morning.

If you’re getting them done at a salon then go for gel (like Shellac) or BIAB-cured under a lamp so immediately dry and hard wearing. I tend to get gel for toenails and BIAB for fingernails. Lasts for weeks!

I use normal nail polish and a No7 top coat which goes rock hard really fast and lasts ages. I've stopped using my gel/ UV light because of potential allergies.
