Summer wedding - what to wear with this dress?

Hi all, DP and I are going to a summer wedding this year, the groom is one of his oldest pals who he grew up with.
It's an outdoor wedding and the invite specifies the dress code as not too dressy.....they specifically say don't wear stilettos unless you want to sink into the grass 😄
I'm wearing this dress but I have no idea what shoes to wear with it! I'm imagining sandals but I don't think dainty strappy sandals would work as its not a thin strappy dress if you get what I mean?
Please help, I'm hopeless at this sort of thing

For a second I thought we were going to the same wedding. I have the same instructions outdoors on grass, informal wear. Only it's Ds and he hasn't got any married men he grew up with coming 😁
I'm still dithering over a dress. Yours is lovely. I think I might go trousers, no firm choices yet.
But I vote for the silver Birkies. I love my pink ones, maybe I'd buy a Dress around wearing them.

I'd have a look at wedges by Dr Martens, Fly London or Rocket Dog - there's generally a fair amount of weird crap but some gems mixed in! Both my sister and I wore Fly for our (own!) respective weddings - mine aren't sold any more and have long since sadly been consigned to the bin, but my sister had these:

Not everyone's cup of tea I'm sure but she looked amazing, and wore a very similar dress in both style and colour to yours (not handmade though, fair play!). We both have a kind of (muted, not OTT) pinup girl/slightly alternative kind of style when attempting to dress up and wouldn't wear classic heels or really girly type shoes. I personally live in trainers or clompy boots 95% of the time so would have felt ridiculous in something really strappy or glamorous but felt that this kind of style was a good compromise.

Yeah I like the "mayari " style birkenstock that a couple of people have mentioned, not too clompy!
