Aaah white skirt and AF

Please help me, here's my problem.

  1. I hate shopping
  2. Managed to get an outfit to wear to a wedding that doesn't make me look completely hideous and i can still breast feed in.
  3. The skirt is mostly white, well cream
  4. This week I got my first period since having dd and it's all over the place.

what should i do? If i wear the skirt i am going to be completely paranoid about leaking

oh god oh god oh god i don't know what to do...the wedding is tomorrow. i'm working today so don't have time to buy a whole new outfit.

and big pants

Disenchanted · 09/05/2008 09:32

Wear really bight anf TIGHT control knickers with a big pad plus a tampon,.

go to the loo regularly and change pad!

Disenchanted · 09/05/2008 09:32

'big and tight' that should have read

SheikYerbouti · 09/05/2008 09:33

I bet you won't leak - it's never happened to me, and I get SOOPER heavy periods.

If I am extra paranoid - what about using a tampon and a sanitary towel? Or take loads of sanitary towels with you and change them really, really regularly?

SheikYerbouti · 09/05/2008 09:35

What about wearing those humongous night time towels, the one in the blue packet? They are longer then normal, so more coverage.

littlelamb · 09/05/2008 09:39

Issue for me too! I have been looking forward to finally having my baby and getting back into something resembling normal clothes when it dawned on me that the only things likely to fit are a pair of white linen trousers I think I need to rethink that one

Thanks guys, i feel a bit better already. So please advise me on some good pads to get. I've never really used them and when i wore big ones after birth of dd i got chafing ! the midwife said it was coz i wasn't used to wearing them.

Are you OK wearing a tampon?

Maternity pad?

SheikYerbouti · 09/05/2008 09:44

Always ultra in the blue packet - they are for night time. They aren't bulky, like maternity ones. They will give you more coverage, so you don;t have to be paranoid sitting down.

Innat · 09/05/2008 09:51

yep tampons are (mostly) fine. I just ordered a mooncup which should arrive today but i figured this wasn't the right situation to test it out!

Ok so i will go for the tampon/pad combo - always ultra blue packet...will pop out at lunchtime to get those.

and the big pants...they're just to hold my tummy in i assume? they won't magically stop my period will they???!!!
