Ok. Have hair trial at my mum's hairdressers soon, am skeptical about their abilities, my mum has crap hair but that may be because her hair is like fluff!

Its a big white wedding. I have long straight dark brown hair (middle of back) v.shiny. I think I want my hair all up, but am worried about looking severe or like I am off to my prom.

I have my tiara/veil/dress.

I have this picture of hair I like but is it a bit prom?

Normal hair is down and straight and knotty after about an hour. Or in ponytail looking flat.

Have a LOT of hair. This is normal (but its longer than this picture shows) i164.photobucket.com/albums/u15/applegrl7/Random/meeee.jpg

Hi, would also like some inspiration for my wedding, though my hair is alot shorter that smurfgirl's, it's touching my shoulders.

cosima · 08/05/2008 19:41

down, with a few curls, but definately down

TillyScoutsmum · 08/05/2008 20:03

How about something like this. Far right top row and second across second row

I do like the one you linked as well though

You're dress is lovely btw

LaDiDaDi · 08/05/2008 20:06

I think that your fringe, which looks lovely in "normal life" pics, might look a bit severe if the rest of your hair is up. I would therefore go for a half-up/half-down look. Some tendrils round the front.

smurfgirl · 08/05/2008 20:09

half up half down = knots and curls that have fallen out I think

I am planning on having fringe cut so its a bit less hardcore for wedding. Its a pain though because I love having a full blunt fringe usually.

or this ?

cod is right you know

smurfgirl · 08/05/2008 22:56

I asked him and he said I like it all sorts of ways - when you have it in pigtails its nice

So then I said, well what do you think I should have for the wedding and he said I don't want to think I want it to be a surprise x2

He likes it curly but I am not convinced that if I have it curly at 8.30 it will still be curly when we get married at 1.30, let alone by the evening. and it looks GRIM when its curly but they have dropped out.

pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1620/1718331/5137325/146333139.jpg maybe something like this, but this was for a ball so i don't know if i want the same thing again for our wedding?

A full on fringe with hair up is going to look severe unless you are Audrey Hepburn. I think down (but styled) or part updo would look lovely, like TillyScoutMum suggested in her link.

Curls can last the day but it will depend on who does your hair. You could have a couple of trial runs to find out.

Do you need MNers to recommend a hairdresser if you have little faith in your mum's?

LadySweet · 08/05/2008 23:13

Your hair looks quite fine and I would be a bit worried that the hair-ups you posted, with your type of hair, would perhaps require many pins/grips and a lot of spray and therefore would perhaps feel a bit "tight" on your head on the day.

Perhaps go for some roller action to give your hair some volume and get it pinned more loosely from the crown with some tendrils (not ringlets) cascading at the side.

Hope you have a lovely day

LaDiDaDi · 08/05/2008 23:16

what about this, main pic?

smurfgirl · 08/05/2008 23:20

There are loads in the town where my mum lives.

I really don't think curls will hold all day I have had them done by hair dresser etc, they do last but only about 4-5 hours. Which if sone at 9 would take me nicely through to half way through my wedding ceremony!

My veil is very heavy as well would half up half down suit it?

I do like it down and curly but always pictured it up in my head and my mum said that wedding hair needs to be up.

I am planning to have my fringe cut a bit so its not full on, more sweepy.

I like that one ladidah.

I am having my trial nice and early so if I don't like what they do I can have another one - I am VERY fussy.
