Right. I'm going to a Christening naked this weekend, and it's all Mumsnet's fault.

Skint. Horrendous post-baby jelly belly. Can't fit in normal clothes yet. Gopping wintery maternity clothes. Got a birthday party and a Christening this weekend. Need something with BF access.

Went to the shops this morning (last chance to go) and hoofed around Primark, H&M and all the other slightly cheaper shops. Nothing.

I reached the ohmygodIhavetogetsomething stage and decided to bugger the budget and go to Per Una. Lovely lovely Per Una. I always find something I like in Per Una.

BUT NO!

Mumsnet had RUINED my beloved Per Una for me. A little Mumsnetty voice in my head kept pointing out that everything was just the wrong length and exactly the wrong colour and everyone else in the section had a good 40 years on me. My low point was holding a top up against myself and looking in the mirror to see a sweet little octegenarian with a yellowing granny perm and a humped back doing the same with the same top.

So, now I'm going to have to spend the weekend naked. Happy?

In desperation I bought this top and this skirt but I strongly dislike both, they do nothing for me and I think I'd better take them back.

I've never seen that Scrummy Mummy site. V nice.

Very lovely of you to help Lissie, but unfortunately time has run out. I am just having a moan really! I'm sure I'll fashion something out of a sack and a binbag and avoid offending the priest!

Yes, where do you live? and what size are you?

BroccoliSpears · 08/05/2008 16:22

I suppose I could do a dash to the shops tomorrow if I knew exactly what I was going to get. Am supposed to be food shopping / cooking for the party tomorrow. Am in Leeds city centre so it's not as though I'm short of shops.
