Experiences of laser pigmentation removal.

I have 3 sun spots on my face. Which I’ve had 3 sessions of laser pigmentation removal at the laser clinics uk. Last session Tuesday. Feel really disheartened that the spots have not changed at all. The one looks so dark at the moment. Don’t know whether it’s worth continuing to have more sessions. Has anybody got any experience of this?

My dermatologist said she wouldn't advise laser on pigmentation/sunspots and put me on retinol and an exfoliating regime. I've got melasma which has reduced (although I would have expected it to over winter anyway) and my pigmentation spot hasn't changed. I think I started using the products about 3 and a half months ago, so I'm in a similar boat and also a bit disheartened. My skin is still peeling quite a lot as well, so I feel like not only has my pigmentation not gone but my skin looks worse!

So no advice but commiserations. I'm also going to ask her about hydroquinone as I've seen it mentioned as being the best for fading pigment.

Just started this one month ago, and minimal change (a little bit paler)

Will try a second and third treatment and if not improved I will stop

Mine is age spot (ie sun damage) not melasma (which I think is hormonal?).

They should get darker, crust and fall off after each treatment, gradually reducing

The laser tech/nurses keep saying I should be getting ‘scabbing’ and the spots should flake away and lighten, but all I’m getting is slightly dry skin. They keep increasing the strength of the laser each time. Mine are from sun damage. I think I might try skin &me prescription retinol. Have tried hydroquinone before but didn’t work either.

I'll update you, if you like, but at the moment I have only had one session?
