Brora navy corduroy blazer - but no trousers

I got this in Brora sale but haven't managed to get the trousers to go with it. Would it look okay to buy a different colour of cords or is that a bit like double denim?

No - get trousers in a different fabric - denim, wool flannel, cotton, silk twill - anything but differently coloured cord.

It should look good with pretty much anything.

I phoned a Brora shop to see if they had the ink cord trousers in my size and they suggested that I buy the other "similar" colour Cord trousers.

I did wonder about this but kind of believed them as thought they should know. Is it a complete no-no?

I would want them to be the exact same colour. And style, probably. (Unless perhaps the same colour but an intentionally completely different type of cord?)

Obviously you could get them both and try it out, but …

No I can't. The ink cords are not available in my size which is why I phoned Brora.

(Sorry, by ‘both’ I meant the jacket and the ‘similar’ trousers.)

Keep an eye on the John Lewis sale. They have 14 and 16 at the moment i believe but odd items come back in all the time.
