I need to overhaul my wardrobe but I don't have a clue where to start! Any ideas?

I am the same age and size and I shop at:
Hollister as they do a short length in trousers including pyjamas which I love, I have a few pairs of their work trousers, linen trousers and joggers. I also like their tops and knitwear but they are often quite short in length. An XL is an 18 and XXL is a 20.
i also like Boden, Mint velvet and hush sometimes, but the quality of hush fabric has declined. I have bought some nice things in marks and Spencer’s recently and sometimes get things from fat face. All do short lengths. I would say my look is not edgy or fashionable though, I like more neutral classic clothes and wear wide leg trousers and neat jumpers for work, or midi dresses or shirt dresses. For casual I like sweater dresses or jeans and oversized jumpers with uggs or trainers.

@Calypsocuckoo that's so useful- thank you! I think our style sounds very similar so I'll check all of these out, I would never have thought about Hollister!

I keep meaning to check out Abercrombie as well, as they are same company as Hollister but not quite as young, so maybe worth a look x

The hollister Livy trousers are excellent for work. I am an 18/20 and the xxl is too big really. I got a jumper from there as well and it was lovely but turned into a rag after a few washes.

I have a dress from Joanie I got on vinted which is an excellent fit if that is your taste.

Whistles can be good for some bits. I have a couple of the jersey blazers for work - one of those, the Livy trousers with a plain tucked in long sleeve t shirt, belt on the trousers, jewellery and some loafers/mary janes is my go to 'smart' work outfit. Not exactly fashion forward but smart comfy and appropriate.

Not gonna lie, out of work it's Tu sweatshirts and H&M joggers. And a look of despair on teen dds face.

I’d recommend these wide legged white stuff cream cropped jeans which are in an 18 petite. I’m 5 foot 1 and they’re the right length on me. I live in them in the summer. www.whitestuff.com/p/3761/tia-wide-leg-crop-jean/NAT_WHITE?Length=Petite]]

I'm about the same size, age and weight OP, I like M&S and their regular length seems Ok on me. I like their 'magic' jeans, they are quite big sizes so I would try a 16 as well as 18, I also got some good soft sports bra tops in there for £12. bit less trendy than some of the other options here though!

Thank you everyone, I'm feeling a little more hopeful now. It has been getting me down and I'm determined to get back on track.
I've now got a good list of places to start.
