Any advice on what to do about hooded eye lids? Just turned 40 and suddenly feel like my eyes are drooping.

What creams/ treatments work best for sorting this?

She recently told me she is very glad she never did I just learned to accept it.

One of the best things I ever did. I look so much more awake and surgery was way easier than I thought.

I'm also 40, but have always had hooded eyes. I agree that make-up techniques can be very effective. I've not worn much makeup over the last couple of years due to entering hectic stage of life with babies, so a lot of the techniques I learned are probably a bit dated now, but I'm sure there will be a lot of newer video tutorials around with good tips and you can play around and find what works. There were always a mix or videos showing some quite complicated techniques, but others that were super simple yet effective and I know there are some specifically for hooded eyes on older women

My family have this and you don't have to just accept it. You're not being vain so ignore people telling you to get over it.

The surgery to correct it is really straightforward so go get a referral and get it sorted if it's affecting you badly.

Members of my family have been really affected by this and so glad they had the procedure.

The eyelid tape works really well! I don't wear it often, but when I do I look great 🤣

I had an upper blepharoplasty too about 6 years ago and I'm so, so glad I went through with it. Mine looked so good post surgery my DH got his done the following year! My plastics surgeon said it's the only procedure she does that she would ever consider herself as it's as minimally invasive as surgery can get and the results are very good.
My eyes were so hooded I looked permanently tired and they were starting to spill over my top lash line. I could see they would start to affect my vision over time. I felt I looked permanently tired but look so much more awake now. I probably will need to get them redone in 10 years or so but knowing what is involved I'll be much calmer the next time!

Don't worry about it.

It's easy to get obsessed and overthink it but if you look at everyone you meet during a day, I guarantee the vast majority will have hooded eyes.

It's normal.

That's such great advice I'm the same "hooded eyes" I only realised there was a name for it about 5 years ago and ever since it was an issue.

But when you step back look around it's really normal and common and most people have no clue it's even a thing!

What about plasma treatment? I see it advertised, says it tightens the skin, but I don’t know if it works.

Micro current device might slightly improve and prevent them from worsening.

My endocrinologist said that drooping eyelids is often associated with low thyroid levels, so if its come on recently it might be worth getting your levels checked

Oh that's interesting. Didn't realise it could be something other than aging.

I wish that people who demonstrated make-up products actually had the issue they were pretending they could fix. She looked the same before and after.
I’ve tried these on my actually hooded eyes and they were not only pretty ineffective, but also very visible, particularly if you tried to apply any make-up as well.

Yep they dont work well at all
