Chemical peels, are they worth it?

An acquaintance has just started a beauty/aesthetics business and has offered me a Clinicare peel. It's £60, but I don't know what type of peel it is. I assume it's a very superficial one for that price? Just wondering if they make a difference or it's a complete waste of money?

Totally depends what acid is used, it could be a salicylic acid which would be great if your skin is congested but drying and irritating if your skin is sensitive. Or could be lactic acid which will add hydration but like you say very superficial. It could be a whole number or other acids. Ask your friend for the specifics.
