I am on the look out for a similar pair Aimsmum. I don't know how people do the toepost thing, I always feel like I'm sawing a hole up the centre of my foot.
And I can't do backless either, they won't stay on my feet.
Will have a look around and report back.

Think how freaked out you'll be if someone posts that yes, they can see the image of the shoes in your head, and then links to the picture!

you poss could in these

Furball · 06/05/2008 21:44

just a suggestion but they do tick all your boxes

droopytits · 06/05/2008 21:45

ooops - didnt read that bit properly - maybe not the best for 4 miles of walking!

Tutter · 06/05/2008 21:50

you're bonkers if you're walking 4 miles a day in open toes strappy shoes

i'd have to wear trainers or something similar (merrells? converse?)

Furball · 06/05/2008 22:04

I don't know if I dare say it - but have you tried crocs? I don't know if you're a lover or a hater but they really would do the job

fishie · 06/05/2008 22:08

have extensively tried sturdy-ish shoes for similar walks and

clarks freckle face ballet type - not worth money, too soft and utterly destroyed after six months.

hush puppies fountain - new purchase, much sturdier but currently being worn in and ooh they are solid. ow.

birkenstock gizeh - toe post so not for you, but madrids? anyway no problem bringing them out again for a second year.

halflinger clog things - my favourite and desparately uncool but lovely to walk in.

Heated · 06/05/2008 22:10

these?

Heated · 06/05/2008 22:12

this?

RosaLuxembourg · 06/05/2008 22:13

I like those Heated.
I can't buy anything for a couple of weeks as the only decent shoe shop (and it is Clarks) in our town has closed for FOUR WEEKS for refurbishment. Although there is still Shoe Express I suppose.

Heated · 06/05/2008 22:13

another

Tutter · 07/05/2008 07:46

DirtySexyMummy · 07/05/2008 20:26

How about these?

Or these?

these aren't brown, but they are lovely

Why do they have to be brown?

getmeouttahere · 07/05/2008 20:35

Aimsmum, I know you said you had tried Birkenstocks but I have a pair of the type with 2 wide straps across the top in a lovely choc brown colour.

I love them so much I buy a new pair when the old ones wear out. I walk miles in them.

They go with shorts, skirts, trousers, jeans, everything.
