What do people wear to winter weddings?

Just that really.

Got one in a couple of weeks, just a guest.

Was planning on wearing a long shiny dress with a matching stole but then wondered if it's suitable for a wedding. Went out and panic bought a flowery dress which I'm now looking at doubtfully thinking it's too summery.

Any advice?

Trouser suit.

I went to one in October and maybe 25% of the women were in trousers, mostly us older ones. The young women were mostly in party dresses, knee or midi-length with coats over the top for the church bit.

Thanks, I'd not really considered a trouser suit.
