Not really style but...

I am desparate to go swimming at the moment, but due to recent self harm episodes my upper thighs are a mess frankly.

All scarred over now, but very purple and ugly, and there a quite a few very long ones with little stitch scars along them (you know the little dots alongside the scar?). My bestmate saw me changing recently and was really upset about them so now I am really worried.

Will I be ok to swim do you think? Will people make comments? I have scars on my arms, but they are smaller and less dramatic than these beasties so got less comments. I am worried the pool will try and chuck me out or something.

I am also off on honeymoon to the Maldives in October, do you think they will fade a lot by then?

Might it be worth trying some sort of skin camouflage makeup? Many of them are supposed to be waterproof. something like this (though there's another one whose name I can't rembember).

god no they will not chuck you out for having scars

have you thought about one of these if you are really conscious of them?

I'm not saying you need to cover them up but the option is there if you will feel self conscious

I think it was Dermablend I was trying to remember.

smurfgirl · 06/05/2008 16:38

dermablend does not work on me, I am too pale

Pale, scarred and fat - sexy

smurfgirl · 06/05/2008 19:07

Will spray tan come off in the pool? God I have to be brave getting nearly naked for that too, am trying to brave a bikini wax at the moment.
