By slim I mean Italian/soothern Europe build rather than Brit/German...

BF buys a lot of tops from Crew clothing and John Lewis, and wears Levis jeans (don't ask me which style!). He's slim, not particularly tall and broad shouldered.

Husband is 70, 5' 11", 30" or 32" waist, very slim. Most of his clothes are from here.

Hollister do jeans that fit nicely and come in a good range of sizes and Uniqlo for basics.

VanCleefArpels · 23/01/2025 13:32

M&S, Next, Uniqlo for my svelte spouse

Ginmonkeyagain · 23/01/2025 13:45

Mr Monkey early 50s, is a slim build and medium height. He tends to go to Uniqlo for basics, Reiss for smart stuff and then places like Howies, Edwin Jeans, Huit, Million Hands, One True Saxon, APC, YMC, Paul Smith for casual wear.

Despite being on the svelte side, he can't wear Italian/French style slim cut suits as he has fairly sturdy legs from a life time of football/running.

These days he works in running so 90% of his time is spent running gear.

mynameiscalypso · 23/01/2025 13:49

Uniqlo/John Lewis for basics. Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein for smarter bits and work stuff. The occasional bit from Superdry.

Cos are good - more a scandi shop, but the cut and shaping of items is great.

Overtheatlantic · 23/01/2025 15:42

John Lewis and Charles Tywritt

Is this some sort of coach trip for slim, southern Europeans who all have an interest in British clothing? 🤔

RunnerDown · 23/01/2025 15:53

Sezane - which is an online French site which has men’s clothes too . Called Octobre. Returns are very easy . Sizing is on the slim side

evilharpy · 23/01/2025 15:55

My husband is about 6' and very slim. He likes Levis jeans, Uniqlo in general, and rummaging for nice woolly jumpers in TK Maxx.

Alabas · 23/01/2025 15:56

Zara are cut for small men. I wouldn’t go for Cos (as much as I love shopping there), Scandinavian brands don’t really cater for petite men. My Northern European husband bought a pair of shorts in Zara, despite being extra large they looked like hot pants!!

loveyouradvice · 23/01/2025 22:23

What a fab list - yes he's tall as well as slim - @IHaveAlwaysLivedintheCastle he sounds just like your husband, just a bit younger...

Huge huge thanks for an inspiring and interesting range.
