As above. I put on a lot of weight following surgery about 5 years ago, currently size 18, but usually wear 20 as I don't like clothes to be very snug. I know lots of plus size women who look great, they have boobs so everything is proportional. Because of my lack of, the usual suggestions of wrap tops/dresses are totally out. Blazers look awful aswell for the same reason, the ubiquitous crisp white shirt is out because I work with kids so need something comfortable and not likely to get ruined by stains on day 1. I have very skinny ankles, then tree trunk legs so I hate skinnies or ankle grazer/tapered bottoms. I usually wear wide leg, straight trousers which is fine. I'm stuck for tops though. I have loads of Primark long t shirts, which I really like, but have been mistaken a few times for wearing pyjamas Blush. I'm not looking to be stylish or on-trend, but need to be a bit more put together. I like fairly natural materials. If anyone has any inspo or images I would very much appreciate it. M&S plus size category shows models that cannot be more than a size 8 Hmm HELP!

I like casual wear, with perhaps a smartish direction. I love country wear but I feel you need to be a particular size to pull it off. I'd look more Vicky Pollard than Jilly Cooper I'm afraid in half of the Country Casuals outfits.

Hi firstly I’m sure you look lovely regardless of ‘skinny ankles’ lol. What kind of age range are we talking? Advice for 20s is a little different to 50s.

Thanks @AubernFable for the lovely words Flowers. I'm not really bothered about how I look in terms of weight/proportion, but need to smarten up a bit. I'm mid 40s.
