I want some casual skirts that don't make me look frumpy or tarty

I never wear skirts because I can never find any that I feel comfortable (or like myself ) in

I always find I either look frumpy and middle aged or over dressed.

Please help me. I have good legs and want to wear skirts..

Just saw a girl walking past in a nice denim 3/4 skirt - she looked lovely but it would have looked awful on me. I was very jealous lol

I would realli like to find 2 or 3 skirts that I can just wear in an 'everyday' kind of way. I'm SO sick of living in jeans..

Please please help me

the flat shoes will help hugely toward the casual-ness, whatever bag you use

something with a cutabout hem might help
[rummages for examples]
thus - cannout vouch for quality though, ahve fallen foul of Joe Brown's before

linen
not sure re colour
quite cool

I find high heeled t bars or mary janes always look very casual.

I go for killer heels, lovely skirt, then a plain high necked top (usually long or 3/4 length sleeves). And always a massive bag!

I'll have a look for you mohara and see if I can find anything like my favourites.

SniffyHock · 06/05/2008 14:39

these look quite frumpy until you put them on. The sales assistant persuaded me to try them on last year and I wore them loads! Great with skirts, not too dressy. Will get the white ones this year.

I like that linen skirt in next

quite like the joe brown one in white but that would be very different from y usual style.

Not sure about the shoes.. can imagine thay would be nice in white though

I quite like this skirt but why are the people in the background of the enlarged pictures naked?

now if you are tall that could look quite frighteningly frumpy as it will stop at a Mormonny mid-calf

concept is sound though

MascaraOHara · 06/05/2008 15:33

what about

this

or this

white

will continue looking

I am really laughing now, wtf is going on with that white label picture?

Did they shoot on a nudist beach and just not notice?

lovely skirt though, in green! But would need serious heels and a lovely top to not look frumpy.

MrsBadger · 06/05/2008 15:34

all lovely - cutabout hem on dress is just what I meant!

SilentTerror · 06/05/2008 18:51

Have got 2 from White Stuff that I wear with vest or scoop neck and ballet flats or thong sandals.
Always think Fat Face and White Stuff skirts are casual in themselves,IFYSWIM.
Have also Got some from Great Plains which are nice too. Occasionally wear wedges with them, they make my figure look better but def do dress it up.

Hi Mascara, I like skirts as well, am also tall (5ft 11") and look like an Albino.
I have ones similar style to the one earlier shown in dorothy perkins and wear them with white flat flip flop/mules.
I always put fake tan on my legs though as I like to take that white glare away!
I just don't suit other styles and still manage to look vaguely feminine.

MascaraOHara · 07/05/2008 13:27

ok, which fake tans are good? I've tried a number of them.. am currently on the L'Oreal one but still manage to end up streaky.. even though I exfoliate and only put on a small amount each day etc

Didn't like Dove. Haven't tried any others (that I can remember)

am going to go shopping at the weekend..
