I'm thinking of buying a pair and would like a pair with a bit of stretch and an average fit - I'm a size 10. Any ideas?

I love H and M for skinny jeans. do have a gap pair though. Next no good really imo.

multitasker · 06/05/2008 10:59

Hadn't thought of H&m, will try there.

There very few people skinny jeans look good on imo.
Can you carry them off?

multitasker · 06/05/2008 11:25

I see so many wearing them and thought with a pair of heels I should look ok. I'll know better when I try a few pairs on I suppose. I'm about 8 and half stone with a boyish build so maybe??

Yes, I think if you have very slim hips they look good.
I am small too and I always found the waists to big

Good luck anyway!!

top shop 'baxter' jeans are good, about £30 and come in 3 leg lengths

multitasker · 06/05/2008 16:01

multitasker, I was ranting on another thread that GAP seem to have changed the cut of their skinny jeans so that they are v. baggy on thighs and circulation-stopping tight on calves ...

So don't be upset if they don't fit you.

multitasker · 07/05/2008 09:16

That does'nt sound so good - I have well developed calves from years of dancing so I may try Top Shop first - probably cheaper too.

if you want to splash out Victoria Beckhams jeans are BRILLIANT

multitasker · 07/05/2008 13:18

I may be fit but I couldn't get one leg into a pair of VBs!! And I think my dc would be on baked beans for a month if I did splash out

I don't agree you have to be boyish and like a pin to carry off skinny jeans. I'm a size 14 with a big arse and I look AMAZING in mine.

(They were £8 from Primark if anyones interested)

hoxtonchick · 07/05/2008 13:21

i have some gap ones and don't like the cut at all. love my uniqlo ones, & they're on offer atm, a tenner a pair. i'm bigger than you though....

I have Gap Straight Fit jeans which are really quite skinny in a flattering way. Am going to get the Uniqlo ones I think

maidamess · 07/05/2008 13:24

uniqlo jeans are good for those of us a little weightier in the backside...but I reckon dorothy Perkins are better. And Primark.

hoxtonchick · 07/05/2008 13:25

you've met me batters, & indeed i think i was wearing said uniqlo jeans, so i say yes!

Will add Primark and D Perkins to search list. I should be thinking of summery dresses but the chances of this weather lasting is unlikely...

Bought the Baxter ones in Top Shop today - I'm convinced their fitting rooms have slimming mirrors
