Cream eye colour/sticks that don't crease?

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 20/01/2025 23:04

In an effort to switch up/simplify my make up I bought some eye colour sticks (avon "16 hour" ones).

Within an hour they crease and smudge like mad.
I have tried over primer, no difference.

Is there a secret to using creme /sticks? Or is it just that these are duff - in which case is there is a brand out there which will stay put?

I see a lot of ads for Prime Prometics ones. (I get a lot of age-targeted ads now!). Has anyone used those? Or found something better?

I think I am getting too old for powder eyeshadow, but I need something!

I love Pixi Eyelift Max. I haven't found anything with true staying power but like the texture of these.

That's because Avon is kak. Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and Vieve all do good ones.

I like the maybelline colour tattoo pots, on and on bronze is a lovely shade

faithbuffy · 20/01/2025 23:40

These are meant to be good too

These are brilliant. I smudge it on at a million miles an hour with my finger. Sometimes use two different colours.
Is ace, foolproof.

Cheap - ELF No Budge Cream Eyeshadow - does exactly what it promises but there's a limited shade range

Expensive - Lisa Eldridge Liquid silk eyeshadow - also doesn't budge and is very buidable. The shade rage limited.

Gen See mixed media (I think?) eyeshadows are nice. They last really well, don't remember any creasing and I have very saggy eyes.

Bobbi brown is easily the best in the category.

I bought the Laura Mercier ones which had amazing staying power but I was allergic to them. (I did post on here a few weeks ago). I have since bought the Kiko Milane Long wear ones at half the price and am very happy with them.

Oooh thank you everyone.
I am going to do some browsing after work!

Bobbi Brown. Tried some Kiko & some Tarte but they were rubbish, back to Bobbi Brown, love them

SoScarletItWas · 21/01/2025 12:57

Bobbi Brown is best. Kiko also suit me and stay on well with no creasing, but I know others don’t find them so good. I have both.

Kiko are so cheap relative to the BB though so barely a tenner lost to give one a whirl! Available on Amazon. I’ve got about six colours and love them all.

Ilovemyshed · 21/01/2025 13:02

Trinny London are very good too

Ihatemondays1962 · 21/01/2025 13:03

Another vote for the Bobbi Brown ones

NotMeekNotObedient · 21/01/2025 13:08

Yep, another reccomendation for BB

booisbooming · 21/01/2025 13:13

If they're creasing they're just not very good ones sadly.

Quite spendy but Violette.FR cream eyeshadows (in a tube with a doe-foot activator) don't budge AT ALL. They might be a bit too long lasting for me, I like a bit of a natural fade.

MAC Paint Pots are an old faithful too.

If you want an actual stick, Laura Mercier and Rare Beauty are good. Charlotte Tilbury pencils are mid but nice colours.

BamberGirl · 21/01/2025 13:14

I really like the pixi ones too!
love the ‘sunset’ colour.

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 21/01/2025 21:14

Thank you everyone.
I have splurged on some BB ones. Will report back once I have tried them!

Bobbi Brown every time.

kdramaqueen · 21/01/2025 23:12

Another BB fan here.

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 28/01/2025 20:51

I bought some Bobbi Browns , thank you for the advice.

They are fabulous to apply.

However, I am still getting some creasing, within a couple of hours.

Is there any magic trick to applying these so they don't crease? Do I need primer? An I missing something?
