...oh, and a pair of shoes to match would be good too

My dds Christening is this Sunday - i have pretty much decided that i want to wear black kickflare trousers (am still carrying baby weight and want to try and look a little slimmer - thought these would be best?) and need a top and some fabulous (but fairly comfy - maybe wedges??) shoes.

I would prefer a bit of a sleeve as i'm not fond of my upper arms and something that will flatter but not emphasise my rather large chest!

Am a size 16/18.

Am open to suggestions re colour (am brunette if hair colour matters)

Thanks in advance

This is pretty.

I can't find what I want to find online.

Wide leg trousers would be nicer IMO.

Yes white linen trousers would be nice. But maybe not practical, maybe navy linen?

I think that top if quite office-weary

www.principles.co.uk/fcp/product/-/SMART-TOPS/Pretty-Flower-Print-Top/6933

Nice..

bluenosesaint · 06/05/2008 21:51

Ok, i love the blue calcutta top from monsoon and the blue beaded kaftan from debenhams - are these both ok with big boobs??

What colour trousers then if you shouldn't wear colour with black? I can't wear white, am far too big for that - i would be soooooo self-conscious

OP posts:
smurfgirl · 06/05/2008 21:55

I would say black is ok, but do wideleg linen.

Maybe navy or beige, but you would need to try them on together.

fishie · 06/05/2008 21:58

what are your legs like? navy trousers with a blue top.

bluenosesaint · 06/05/2008 22:00

neither of the two that like have got my size is stock

back to the drawing board ...

bluenosesaint · 06/05/2008 22:03

I've got thighs like no-one else! ...and i don't mean that in a good way

This is why i wanted to stick to black originally - thought some miracle may occur to make me look slimmer

OP posts:
maidamess · 06/05/2008 22:10

By kick flare do you mean bootleg? I think they could look a bit cheap if you are not careful.
Wide legs sound better, with a tunic style top.

this top
these trews
this scarf
or funky beads.

fishie · 06/05/2008 22:15

bluenose they are only out of stock online. shops will post to you or tell you where to go. if you have thighs then go with smurfy's wide trouser suggestion.

bluenosesaint · 06/05/2008 22:21

This is what i meant by kick flare ...if only they looked like that on me eh?

Ahh i didn't know they would post out fishie - thanks

bluenosesaint · 06/05/2008 22:24

C'mon then - show me some black wide leg trousers

really like those white ones maidemess - just don't think that i can wear white (any black ones like those anywhere?)

OP posts:
fishie · 06/05/2008 22:26

what, sort of vacant?

yes good trousers with an empire tunic top and big wedges.

bluenosesaint · 06/05/2008 22:29

LOL fishie - i'm sure i could do the vacant look at a push

Yeah - thats exactly what i was thinking!
