Mousy hair with highlights

Anyone have natural mousy hair colour with quite a bit of grey, and have blonde highlights? Looking for inspiration pictures on what to do to cover grey but also have blonde highlight with maybe brown lowlights? Thanks

Check out balyage rather than highlights. I go 6 months between dyes now...it's great.

I was thinking balayage, or maybe some light brown highlights with my blonde highlights. At moment I have blonde and caramel highlights but it goes too orangey having caramel all the time

I have similar hair colouring ( including some grey) and have highlights. In the summer months, I have 2 lighter colours and one darker colour. In the winter this is reversed.

I have curly hair if that makes a difference.

Yes that sit sounds good. I like to be blonde but also want some darker bits which may cover the grey a bit better. Maybe blonde and light brown? Or dark brown? I’m not sure. The grey is such a pain to cover

It's not mousy, it's dark ash blonde. Harrumph.

I had similar and for a few years did balayage with darker roots (to cover the grey) and blonder towards the ends

It got to the stage where I was having to cover roots every 4 weeks as grey got more/lighter

I now have a reverse balayage and it's bloody marvellous! Lighter at the root, darker blonde then ash brown at the ends I do a halo and t zone so can wear up or down and only have to touch up every 8-12 weeks now

I've always thought of my hair as mousy but a hairdresser once described it as caramel ash. Sounds much nicer. 😄

Not sure if some brown lowlights should go in? Might cover bits of grey more? What’s balayage? I get confused, is that dark at top with balayage?
