Dress for Posh Meal please!

I'm going to a spa hotel for the night with DH and some friends in a couple of weeks and would love to find a dress for the evening meal.

Budget is £150.

I usually shop at M and S, Next and I've occasionally got a dress from Boden in the sale.
I'm happy and quite keen to look at different brands.

I'm 55, slim and the only style I'd rule out is a maxi dress...not sure if they're still in or not!

Have you looked at Vinted and eBay. You can get some beautiful dresses from both and it will not cost anywhere near your budget.

DD16 uses Vinted a lot and gets some fantastic things!

Depending on the hotel the ‘look’ for dinner can vary, do you have a rough idea in mind?

This would be gorgeous with a tiny cropped fluffy cardigan - and excellent for showing off a spa smoothed décolletage

I'd like a dress with long sleeves, dress probably midi length.

The hotel is Luton Hoo. We've been before, it's beautiful.
The style of dress wouldn't be too dressy/starchy but swish!
Can't think of another word..

Whilst I'm slim, my waist isn't as defined as it used to be so not sure what style might compliment this shape.

It looks like it’s sold out right now though in the colour I have (black with metallic neutrals) but there’s a version that’s pleated with pinks.

I went and had a look in my wardrobe and have found an outfit I think I'll wear.
Wide leg black trousers with a pussycat bow deep plum satin blouse.

That's saved me some pennies!

10 years on we’ve booked a night at Grantley Hall for his 50th and I don’t know what to wear! We are also going for a meal in London with friends at an Indian called Trishna that looks upmarket.
I am not slim, size 16 apple with 36g boobs but I have good legs. I have some nice boots

Thinking a knee length dress- I find “mini” dresses are the right length on me (5ft4).
