Something that smells like Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt?

I absolutely adore this scent. But it is so expensive, and really doesn't last (not on me anyway) I know I could layer it, but that would be even more expense!! I've just used the very last drop and am gutted. I'm trying to have a very low-spend 2025 so defintely can't justify the cost of another bottle. Is there anything that smells like it? I mean, really like it? A few years back I bought some scents from Perfume Parlour and they were like the perfumes I wanted, but not enough of a match, I was disappointed. I'd prefer recommendations from people who also really love the wood sage & sea salt and feel it's a good match. Or else I just give up and go for a completely different scent altogether.

I think that Granado Bossa is very similar, it might be worth a try if you can find a sample. Molton Brown's Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel is in the same family but I personally find it a bit sharp. That one will be easier to try out for comparison though.

If you Google it and put "dupe", loads come up. Essence Vault and Noted Aromas are two of many.

Mystery2345 · 17/01/2025 09:47

I think there's a Zara dupe, if you have a google

Snorlaxo · 17/01/2025 09:50

There’s an M&S dupe that is very reasonable in price

Yes, I was gifted that Molton Brown at Christmas but it's too 'spicy' for me, so disappointing I almost like it but really don't!

Yes, but I am hoping someone who has already used one will come on and tell me which one is really like it!

I will be near an M&S at the weekend so I'll try smell that dupe and see if it's a good match, thanks

@LifeInAHamsterWheel Sorry I was rushing when I posted. Yes I hear you, it's still money spent if you don't like it. I believe you can buy 5 ml samples to try on the popular dupe sites. Might be worth doing that maybe?

Idontjetwashthefucker · 17/01/2025 10:46

I can confirm the M&S dupe is very good, although it doesn't last on the skin long

The Jo Malone one doesn't really last long either. Which, given the price of it, is terrible! I wish I didn't like it so much.

I'm in exactly the same position - I was hoping I'd get one for Xmas but Santa let me down! I will try and get to an M&S so if I do I'll report back.

I was about to say the same thing

I just ordered from noted aromas yesterday and got it arrived today, not the scent you are after but others that I have the real thing for including Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka and Miss Dior - both smell very identical to the real thing
You can get wee £5 samples which is what I bought to try before I decide if I want to buy a big bottle - I am pleased with them

RingofBrodgar · 18/01/2025 07:42

While pleasant enough, I was a bit disappointed by the M&S dupe. Too much neroli. I wear it occasionally to work to use it up. The noted aromas dupe is spot on imo. Would strongly recommend.

Mystery2345 · 20/01/2025 18:13

Zara Ebony Wood is meant to be a dupe

JMAngel1 · 20/01/2025 18:27

Is Noted Aromas better than Perfume Parlour? Anyone used both and could comment?

Vitriolinsanity · 20/01/2025 18:30

I had no problem with the Jo Malone lasting. They really cling on me.

I did have a problem when my boss asked if I wouldn't wear it to meetings as it gave him a headache. He was actually green at the time.

Crazybooklady · 21/02/2025 19:45

Jenny Glow- Wood Sage is an EXACT dupe for wood sage & sea salt. You will not be able to tell the difference, it lasts for hours longer & is a fraction of the price.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 21/02/2025 20:22

Try using vaseline on the area you spray perfume on, it aids longevity

mrssmiling · 22/02/2025 11:02

I haven’t smelt the Jo Malone perfume, but use Sea Salt EDT from the White Company. It’s very reasonable, and lasts well on me - might be worth trying? https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Sea-Salt-Eau-de-Toilette--30ml/p/A12378

CheeseandMarmiteToastie · 23/02/2025 21:25

My lovely DD bought me this and it’s the closest dupe I’ve ever found, lasts really well too and a great price regencyfragrances.com/products/sea-salt-and-sage

Rosieandposies · 03/10/2025 16:14

Jenny Glow Wood and Sage (a dupe) is far better in my opinion than the Jo Malone original, you can clearly smell it hours and hours after application and although very like the original, it has a better fragrance too, although sadly I think it is in the process of being discontinued but check this website https://makesscents.ie/ as there's still some available here.
Go to fragrances, then fragrances for her, I think wood and sage is on the 6th page, at £9 for a big bottle, it can't be beaten for price. I have ordered from the website and am currently using this perfume.

I have tried several dupes for Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir and Sage and Seasalt. I found Noted Aromas the closest. The others smell similar but not quite. They do sample sizes for £4.00. I also find the Jo Malone body lotion fragrance lasts longer. I will be hinting at some for Christmas.

I was sent a sample of their Hinoki and Cedarwood which is very expensive. Currently no dupes so can anyone familiar with this recommend something similar (and cheaper)?
