Wedding guest dress, pagan, hippy type wedding

As above I need a dress for a more relaxed type wedding in May
I'm short, 5'4", and a size 14. I was a chunky 14 but I've lost weight so a slim 14. I have broad shoulders so my top half never goes under 14 but bottom half can be a 12
I'm struggling to find something that still looks special but not traditional wedding guest

Monsoon ? Wrap dresses are flattering if you’re bigger on top.Just seen some on Amazon, also Boho.

Love the green one too

With the proviso that most places aren’t showing their spring / summer stock yet, these should all be worth bookmarking - depending on your budget and tastes:

5’4 is not ‘short’! I’m 5’3 (and broad shouldered) and rarely encounter any difficulty with clothes.

I like the East one and the Joanie. I haven't fared well in the past with the fit of East
I do like wrap dresses
As pp said I might be looking too early and need to wait for new stock to come out. The weather could be anything

This looks arty, relaxed, bohemian and quite 'special occasion' imo:

Thanks
I love the embroidery one. I like the floral but have reservations about the tiered skirt. I can't get it out if my head that it looks like the crochet toilet roll covers from the 70s😀

What’s your budget? Free People have some gorgeous bohemian dresses. They can be pricey though.

I recently bought this one, which is amazingly flattering on me. It skims just right and looks contemporary. They have a 14 in blue or burgundy and the blue would be lovely in May.

I know you asked for a dress, but I went to an outdoor, hippy wedding a few years ago, and my cloak / jacket was invaluable, really added to the "look" and got a lot of complements. I got the cloak, then worked backwards dress-wise.

Etsy is a great place for unusual dresses ime too.

Try Ancient Earth clothing- they have some dresses as per your thread title and also wrap dresses.

CrowleyKitten · 17/01/2025 23:28

disturbia do some gorgeous clothes. it's not just gothy, there are some lovely, floaty, cottagecore type dresses, with botanical, celestial or wildlife prints. I've got a few lovely dresses from them. particularly love the Ophidia wrap dress, ever so flattering and comfortable. although I get that the print won't be for everyone (lots of snakes)
they are definitely worth a look for something a bit different to the high street.
