Good quality plain cotton long or 3/4 sleeve tops

Any suggestions for good quality (not see through / not overly thick (sweatshirt) type) tops. Have finally managed to get the bottom half of me right in terms of trousers and jeans - slim wide leg and cannot find nice tops that are not striped or loud patterns. Just good old plain navy, white, grey, black tops that are made well and will last the test of time and the washing machine! No box shaped or cropped just ones that suit a now 54 year old Mum who wants to get her basic wardrobe right. Casual chic I think it is 😀 Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!😀

I used to like the Jigsaw cotton modal ones, but they don’t do them anymore. The ones they have now with the double front don’t work for me annoyingly.

Gap online, crew neck, nice quality

I like slash/boat neck tops but they can be hard to find. Boden do a few, but they’re too clingy

I've bought some brilliant 100% Cotton t shirts from Primark, but you have to try them on before buying. As the quality & thickness is so variable. Their v neck cotton modal t shirts are a really nice shape.

Surprisingly - Morrisons do great boat neck tops in 100% cotton.

I think Uniqlo have different ranges, I’ve seen some very thin looking Cotton ones in the shop but have also,ordered online and got very thick, good quality cotton tops. But no idea which ones I got.

KettleWell Colours - immense range of colours, necklines, sleeve lengths. Expensive but the quality is great, they wash and travel well and actually sell really well on Vinted/Ebay if you change size or get something that is not quite right anymore

I have these in at least six colours and find them really useful.

Light enough to wear under a jumper when it's cold but thick enough to wear on their own in spring and autumn. Fitted but not too tight; comfortable but not shapeless. And the neck is perfct for me as I can't stand anything tight at my throat.

I've had some of mine for years; still going strong.

Rapanui do really good tshirts

I like these as well, because slash/boat neck suits my body shape. Not the best quality in the world, but not the worst and very affordable (from a UK based company that pays its taxes and looks after its workers).

I checked out Muji today, but only high crew necks in stock.

The Muji u neck t shirts have arrived & I'm so happy with them. They're the perfect ballet shaped scoop neck in the thin cotton for £7.95. It's so hard to find pure cotton & a scoop neck combined.
