Growing out short hair (after chemo)

I'm now in that horrid in-between stage, it's too long for the spikey style but not long enough for a bob or to use clips etc 🥴 I'm currently using curl creme so got a bit of waves going on but I look like I'm auditioning for a remake of The Golden Girls 😱

Please help me to stop looking like my mother!

Could you use some tiny clips to clip sections back? Like this:

Or perhaps a soft or hard headband? There’s loads of different kinds.
