I'd have to say sack

twinsetandpearls · 05/05/2008 12:41

sack.

WanderingTrolley · 05/05/2008 12:41

Hmm, bit hard to carry off unless you are in a petit filou commercial I feel.

And I would rather set fire to my own arse than order from La Redoute again.

boredveryverybored · 05/05/2008 12:41

Definitely sack, it's all shapeless.

Anna8888 · 05/05/2008 12:42

Lovely if you take off the horrible tie belt and either wear the dress loose with some kind of huge necklace or else a low slung wide belt (maybe patent).

You can wear ballerina flats or patent sandals in a coordinating colour

moondog · 05/05/2008 12:42

I think it's quite sweet in a holiday mode sort of way.

isaidno · 05/05/2008 12:42

sack, but a nice colour

katierocket · 05/05/2008 12:43

don't like it, possibly look ok if you are 6 foot tall and v skinny and wearing it on holiday

Flame · 05/05/2008 12:44

sack

snowleopard · 05/05/2008 12:46

Have you seen this tattie sack extraordinaire! I actually like it but I know it would make me look 7 months pg.

Flame · 05/05/2008 12:47

I have a friend who could carry that off SL

Anna8888 · 05/05/2008 12:48

The Kew one is very nice indeed. Would suit me (but I'm not in UK to shop for it).

MrsMattie · 05/05/2008 12:52

I think to carry off those sack dresses you have to be about a size 8, tanned or dark skinned and very pretty - incredibly unforgiving!

isaidno · 05/05/2008 12:53

That Kew one might as well have Maris Piper stamped on it.

Anna8888 · 05/05/2008 12:54

I'm no size 8 (a 10 and on top often a 12) but what I do have is quite wide, bony shoulders and upper chest - the tunic/sack shape works really well for them.

I'm very fair skinned though, so don't agree with that point. In fact, what I really like about those dresses is that they cover my shoulders in the sun.

nailpolish · 05/05/2008 12:55

the kew one is a horrible colour

anna was going to wear a thin patent belt with it and ballet flats

might not get it now tho

isaidno - it's just the right colour as well isn't it?

I wish I could wear it, I love stuff like that. Well I know I could just go ahead and get it, but I'd be in danger of being inadvertently thrown into an industrial vat of shepherd's pie.

Anna8888 · 05/05/2008 12:58

NO the Kew one (in brown) is a gorgeous colour.

You could wear it with scarlet accessories - or bright yellow - both very available this year

TsarChasm · 05/05/2008 13:00

La redoute one is 100% linen which = dish cloth to me.

nailpolish · 05/05/2008 13:03

i dont suit brown

i look like a big jobbie if i do

OP posts:
cornsilk · 05/05/2008 13:13

I like the la redoute one but think it would only suit slender figures.

isaidno · 05/05/2008 13:16

a jobbie in a spud sack - what an attractive look!
