Day time clubbing outfit

I have a friends 50th birthday party coming up at the start of March. We are going for lunch and a few drinks before heading to a local club for an 80s clubbing afternoon/early evening. That’s between 4 and 8 pm so overall, it’s not a late night. I have no idea what to wear. The only thing remotely suitable is a pair of dark blue wide leg jeans that I could wear with some white chunky trainers. Would that work? What about on the top half? I have seen a navy velvet blazer on Vinted that I like the look of but I am just not sure if it’s smart enough. I definitely do not suit black or white. Definitely blues, navy etc. I am a 12 but fairly busty. I also wondered if skinny jeans with heels and the velvet blazer would work but it’s the start of March I am not sure traipsing around Glasgow in the cold with high heels on will be much fun. I am 53.

I like the sound of your first proposed outfit, with the velvet jacket - but why not swap the trainers for some Mary Jane shoes? (As I recall, ballet flats were fashionable throughout the 80’s …)

Something like these?

Thanks. Footwear might need to wait. If it’s a rubbish day or even snowing it might change things.

I’m sure some one else will come along and say it if I don’t but what about a jumpsuit. Wide leg can be super flattering and feels more ‘special’ than jeans but still super comfy.
