Winter Coat for Teenager

andweallsingalong · 13/01/2025 00:08

Can anyone recommend a warm winter coat that is fashionable for a teenage girl (14) who is resistant to winter coats and doesn't like anything I've suggested?

She mainly likes H&M teen, New Look 915 or mild goth type clothing.

Thanks

North face puffa seems to be a uniform! Vinted/ vintage sites worth a look as silly money. Black of course. My DD has had several cheaper versions with latest from Bershka. (Plain black).

North Face puffer! Specifically the Nuptse 1966 style in black. I agree with PP that they seem to be the uniform coat for teens these days

I resisted getting DD one for ages due to the price tag but honestly it was 100% worth it. She got it last Christmas and even after a year of almost daily use it still looks good as new. Very warm, fantastic quality & (most importantly at that age..!) trendy.

Not north face here, it's very area dependent! They all have a uniform superdry coat here which is a simply as most teens won't wear it.

North face puffa here too. After YEARS of coat resistance we finally got teen dd into one when she was about 16.5 / 17.

I have to say despite the steep price tag it's been brilliant! And she's worn it to death.

She's 19 now & seems to have evolved in her coat wearing & had a few lovely jackets now.

Also agree that the only one dd would consider was the Nuptse 1966 style in black

So if you're looking on vinted etc be sure you know which one as not all North Faces are equal in teen world

Thanks all, it's pretty unanimous.

Unfortunately she's somehow escaped brand awareness and hates puffa's and anything bulky. Partly because it won't fit in her locker and partly because she "doesn't like the feel"

I'd bought her a duvet type coat for Xmas and got, "kids don't wear these".

@MeandEmLover - hoping DD will also just submit to warm coats one day, its awful seeing her head off underdressed.

My DD of a similar age has a North Face Dryvent coat. It is made up of two layers so she removes the warm layer when the weather gets warmer. It's not puffy and can scrunch up much smaller than lots of coats. Older sibling has the same but with a furry bit on the hood.
