Can anyone recommend anything that smells really nice?! Oh, and does a good job at shampooing/conditioning hair, obviously!

Omg the old Vidal Sassoon in a dark brown bottle the smell was divine

Anyway for modern day - Redken Amino Mint and Redken Acidic Bonding both smell amazing and are great on your hair

Yes I used to love the Vidal Sassoon shampoo

NoOneKnowsWhoYouAre · 12/01/2025 09:04

I use Palmers sulphate free shampoo and conditioners. They smell of coconut and are great with curly hair.

Snowmanscarf · 12/01/2025 09:05

L’Oréal Dream length shampoo (orange bottle)

saveforthat · 12/01/2025 09:09

I had L'occitane shampoo and conditioner in an advent calendar a few years ago. I think it's called 5 oils or something like that. I loved it so much I bought the full size bottles. It's expensive but lasts for ages. It's a lovely smell and you can smell it all day after you have washed your hair.

When I got my hair done in the salon recently they used a gorgeous smelling shampoo which I found out was L'Oreal Professional Metal Detox. So I bought a bottle, it smells lovely and lathers really well.

My hairdresser used that too,it's lovely, the serum is just gorgeous!

Moraccanoil

Interesting, I actually use Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner at the moment and I can’t smell the scent at all. It certainly doesn’t stay scented in your hair the way that some of the other expensive brands do. It is also really difficult to lather it.

I realise that people enjoy different scents, but Sukin shampoo snd conditioner smells really nice to me. It's VERY reasonably priced (about £6 for 500ml), it's free from sulphates/parabens and it's reverted my lank, menopausal hair back to its previously shiny self.

Lovely-smelling shampoo/conditioner

Another vote for Aveda Shampure, it smells so fresh

MeandEmLover · 12/01/2025 11:21

Kevin Murphy Hydrate Me range smells amazing but is expensive.

I love it

MarSeaLane · 12/01/2025 11:25

Gorgeous smell. Expensive but don't use much. Doesn't strip the natural oils from my hair or coat it with more chemicals.

My hair has never been better.

Molton Brown Indian Cress.

Came on to say this

catin8oots · 12/01/2025 12:20

Oh I've always been a sucker for lovely smelling shampoo and conditioner. Used to buy Redken but now I'm poor - Tescos own brand coconut shampoo and conditioner is lush. My hair feels and smells great

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/01/2025 13:28

Years ago there was a shampoo in a white/purple/green bottle that smelled tropical . Cannot remember the name it wasn't a "brand"

I remember Flex , my mates at school used it .(I think I had whatever was in the bathroom !)

I did try the Aldi Lacuna dupe of Aussie ( I bought both formulations to try) one smelled ok , one smelled like vomit Envy < not envy .
I have given up trying to find a coconut smelling shampoo , they smell buttery .

NoOneKnowsWhoYouAre · 12/01/2025 14:06

@770isaLimitNotaTarget omg I bought that Aldi knock off, it smelled awful, like melted plastic!

There's also a range my hairdresser uses called Neale &wolfe which smells amazing- keep meaning to order some

I was going to say Sampure

hedgehogsinthehedgerow · 12/01/2025 15:58

Ponks I still miss that Vidal Sassoon one too! It was gorgeous.

Normallynumb · 12/01/2025 18:32

I use Matrix Keep me vivid which smells lovely.
All the matrix products are excellent
My hairdresser uses it herself

Normallynumb · 12/01/2025 18:34

I used the Vidal Sassoon shampoo and conditioner too
Gorgeous! I love anything Almond

evtheria · 12/01/2025 18:35

My sister once gave me a bottle of Pureology, it was gorrrrgeousssss.

shiverm · 12/01/2025 18:37

I got two huge bottles of aesop shampoo and conditioner from my work last year. Oh man that was a good 6 months. Guests staying with me would use it and admit to me after they'd used the fancy stuff (happy to share the joy!) it's just so luxurious smelling, like every shower is a spa. I must say though, the conditioner didn't work amazingly on my hair. And wow it's expensive.

merryandbrightdelight · 12/01/2025 18:39

Pantene Pro-V miracles, the pink one and the purple one. It's usually £6 a bottle but was on offer in Tesco last week for £2.95 with a clubcard; offer may still be on

emmax1980 · 12/01/2025 18:41

Cheap and cheerful Alberto Balsam it smells lovely and silicone free

And even older , oh for the days of Vidal Sassoon. I would love some almondy hair products.

I loved the Vidal Sassoon one.
Also love:
Aveda Shampure, Rosemary Mint and Cherry Almond
Avalon Tea Tree smells of lemons which is nice and is not too expensive.
Kevin Murphy Angel is gorgeous but is expensive.
