I'm 45 and noticed my hair is thinning and looking brittle. I'm going grey. Grey is not something I want to embrace yet and money for regular colours is an issue.

I've been using a box dye since Covid- L'Oréal essence in no 7. I'm an ash brown but this colour looks mid brown for the first week then lightens by week 3-4 to a light ginger. I'm in need of a trim/few inches off so going to sort that next week but my hair is really thin and dry.

I know box dyes are great but I can't afford regular hair colours at the salon. It needs colouring every 4 weeks. I've started using Nioxin colour care shampoo and conditioner and keratase oil. I've also been using colour wow extreme dream coat once a week. I wash and dry my hair every other day so heat is used on it 3-4 times a week but I try to put it on a mid setting.

Any advice to bring some bounce and shine back please?

I'm in my forties and I've done a couple of things in the last year thst have transformed my broken hair.
I had it smudge dyed to match my roots/ natural colour so that I could drop the need to dye.
I've also had a keratin blow dry, this takes away all frizz and means you don't have to use any heat at all, this lasts 3 months.
