Help Me Choose my Wedding Hairstyle...

Coffeeebean · 04/01/2025 21:10

I am getting married in June and really struggling to decide how to have my hair!

My hair is relatively long, fine and wavy. My 'go-to' style is a messy high bun

Do I stay on brand and go for a romantic up do?
Or something half up half down?

My dress is a very simple satin a-line (Caroline Castigliano's Marilee) and I will be wearing a (probably quite heavy) veil

I know ill be worrying about it falling out whatever style i go for. Ive definately ruled out fully down because my hair doesnt hold a curl well enough for it to last.

Help! How did you decide? And would you recommend? (Photos very welcome!)

I think you report your thread and ask Mumsnet if the can move it (?)

I would go for hair up, because if you get hot weather then personally I’d get irritated having hair sticking to my neck. Equally hair in my face if it was windy, etc. I suspect it’s probably easier to secure a heavy veil into an up-do?

I wore my hair fully up for the ceremony and meal, and then half up/half down for the dancing.

Have you had a hair trial or a conversation with the hairdresser? It might be a good opportunity to try out some styles.

That's was quick! Hopefully you will get some ideas here :) @Coffeeebean

Very good point! I hadnt even considered the heat (and hair on a sticky neck would drive me mad)

I do get a trial - but I think only for one style (which should in theory be the same style as the day) so i dont think ill get to try both out!

I would go hair up. It already suits you and tbh once the wedding is over a half uo do always looks a little limp and loses its curl.
