Chanel makeup - is it worth it?

Would like to know your experience of using Chanel makeup please! I am hoping to freshen my look up and would love to appear very polished instead of my current just-rolled-out-of-bed look, but is Chanel the brand for that and is it worth the expense?

If yes, would love to hear about favourite products which you would highly recommend 🙏🏼

I like Chanel lipsticks.

Haven’t tried their other stuff.

Same here.

second not buying products that still test on animals to sell in China. it’s greedy and needless.

@Pigeonqueen oooh that's particularly helpful to know! Like the idea of a Rimmel dupe as you and @stayathomer suggest!

Lots of love for the lipsticks. I totally agree that I having one or two products that I love outweighs having 10+ which are average.

I love Chanel. I'm a big fan of the perfumes and body ranges. Not so much the make up, although like others have said I love the lipsticks. I'd rather have a Chanel lipstick than any other. I've tried the foundations but I'm currently using Revolution Skin Silk serum foundation. It's £10.99 in Boots and hands down the best foundation I've used. Much better than any Chanel foundation I've used.

I like the nail varnishes and some of the powders and highlighters.

Ps op, I find a good primer does half the job (for me glossier/ Aimee Connolly). After foundation I spritz with Mac spray

The Les Beiges bronzing cream is the only product of theirs I’ve tried but I really like it, makes me look less like the undead and blends very easily.

I bought a relative Chanel handcream, the wrapping was absolutely gorgeous.

No idea what the product was like but if it was anything like how it was wrapped it would be really special.

Sparkletastic · 05/01/2025 17:10

If you want an absolutely spot on dupe for their cream bronzer get the No7 Pro Artist one. It's beautiful and half the price.

Deathraystare · 05/01/2025 18:20

Personally not impressed. Used a foundation and had a couple of lipsticks. I tried the eyeshadows in a shop and found them 'grainy'. If I do spend ££ I prefer Dior. Love their foundations and lipsticks!

Deathraystare · 05/01/2025 18:21

I also heard their nail polish does not last very long at all.

BecuaseIWantItThatWay · 05/01/2025 19:50

Whilst I do some more research, I'm going to see if the Revolution Skin Silk serum foundation recommended by @Novaavon and No7 Pro Artist bronzer suggested by @Sparkletastic are available in shades which suit me!

Most of my makeup is Chanel. I use the light foundation, can’t remember what it’s called but it’s very thin and moisturising. Mascara, blush(the one in a pump that has little balls of colour that burst on your skin. I have a few eyeshadows too and of course, many lipsticks. Also have the concealer. The only other brands I use are Dior, Tom Ford and YSL so I only really use luxury brands and Chanel is by far my favourite.
