Don't mind 2nd hand.

Maybe something like this?

Or a bit fancier? Beading?

I don't know

Size 10/12

I'm not sure if that's even 1920s!
I just meant old fashioned

Not sure if it’s what you’ll be looking for, but some of the Monsoon ones have quite an old fashioned (in a good way!) style to them

I love all of them!
I definitely want to look like a photo of someone's great grandmother 🤣

I can't help you with a dress but years ago a woman I worked with got married in a 1920s style dress. I think she had it made, it had a drop waist and wasn't full length, it looked like something from the flapper days. It was the loveliest wedding dress I have ever seen.

My budget is quite low because I simply don't want to spend alot (did that 1st time round) so I don't think handmade would be in my budget. I could afford it but it's just not my priority. I would rather get something used

I would have thought a dressmaker would be cheaper than buying ready made?

Oh, that looks lovely - nothing like the one I was thinking of, but it's gorgeous.

No one’s mentioned Needle & Thread yet?

They always seem wonderfully retro - and I’m sure many of their wedding dresses must be available either to rent or to buy pre-owned.

Might not be wedding enough but I love this 1920 style dress.

The Oxfam wedding site has lots of them

There's an American designer called Sue Wong who does almost entirely 20s style dresses; I got one of hers on eBay for less than £100. I did have to pay the charges to get it posted from the US though.

I've found the same dress on US eBay (can't find anything suitable on UK eBay ATM).

StrawberryDream24 · 04/01/2025 15:54

I wore it with a sheer ivory cape.

Actually a US 12 would be UK 14/16.

But Sue Wong is a good bet if you can find your size.

Derailing, but looking through Etsy I found this, described as offering clean simple lines and a streamlined look. Talk about fugly — and it doesn't fit!
