Decent quality brown Chelsea boots

I’m looking for plain brown Chelsea boots that are robust enough to handle 15000+ steps a day in London. My current pair are lovely, but lasted a little over three months before the soles parted company with the uppers. I prefer rubber or similar soles that don’t clack as I walk along, and I don’t want fur lined. I don’t like bulky or platform soles, and they must be plain, no decoration or zip. Any recommendations, ladies?

Birkenstock Highwood.

Birkenstock Highwood.

Yes! These were my Christmas present and they are perfect - highly recommend.

Take a look at Lanx

I love my Blundstones

I bought these a few weeks ago, worn daily and walked miles, totally comfortable and quiet.

Are Blundstones suitable for wide feet?

I have feet like frying pans!

Another vote for Blundstones. They are very light, and comfortable to wear.

I love my lanx 365. They needed no breaking in and I walk 15k-20k steps a day. They still look like new after 4 months.
Worth every penny.

Plus, they are comfortable for wide feet.

Blundstones or docs. I find blundstones easier to 'wear in' although I've got a 5 yr old pair of docs still going strong too so they're great value for money

Thank you - some fabulous suggestions. I have narrow-medium width feet, so some boots are just too wide, hence I want to try before I buy. Unfortunately, Lanx don’t appear to have a London shop, but all other suggestions look promising. I’m spending the morning tomorrow in London trying on as many of them as I can find. It’s my good fortune that Doc Martens, Birkenstock and Blundstone all have stores within walking distance of the gym I’m going to after lunch. I’ll report back.

So thank you for all your suggestions. In the end, it was a very close toss up between Birkenstock Highwood and Dr Martens. I loved the instant comfort of the Birkenstocks, but the colour was a bit brighter than I wanted, and the fit and comfort of the Docs was perfectly acceptable, so I went for the Docs in the end.
