Non iron, quick drying shorts for South American trip

In March I am travelling to Argentina and travelling light. We will be visiting widely varying temperature zones, including the Moreno glacier, Buenos Aires and San Carlo de Bariloche. I am putting together a capsule wardrobe and really need some new shorts..the ones I have are mainly linen/cotton. I was thinking Sweaty Betty or Rohan but would be delighted with cheaper alternatives. My other items will include one of my warm but light padded jackets (Uniqlo/Rab), rain jacket (Uniqlo), full length trousers (Rohan walking trousers), variety of tops then I need to add a versatile skirt/top combo or dress that can be dressed up or down. I have loads of footwear and tops so not needing to buy many items - probably 2 pairs shorts, skirt/top and/or dress. Many thanks

Rohan are great for quick drying travel clothes and do dresses and skirts. You could also try Alpkit but it is more a sport brand rather than so would not have shorts but not dresses. I also like Columbia and its not too expensive but its hard to get the whole range in the UK. They do have some great lightweight dresses made from technical fabric. Patagonia also do dresses but only suit a certain body shape (smaller chest) and are quite pricey.

I'd look for a nice pair of swim shorts. Fast drying and no need to iron.

I got a nice skort in Decathlon for a holiday a few years ago. It dries very quickly. I found it more flattering than shorts on me and more practical than a short skirt.

I've been on similar trips, and have taken with me a couple of satin bias cut skirts from ASOS for the evenings. Very easy to wear, light, and don't take up much space. They look good dressed up with a silk cami, or equally with a t shirt or vest top.

Many thanks for the ideas. Waiting for the snow and ice to go so I can go shopping!
