Calling Mumsnet-ers who are good at styling! So it's January and I'm rationalising my wardrobe.
I got this really cool fine knit black dress from Mango earlier this year and trying to decide whether to keep or donate.
it was a last minute purchase for a formal dinner for work I got invited to at the last minute (as in, less than 24hrs notice) and I styled it in a similar way to the suggestions on Mango's webpage for what to wear with it - I had slingback heels, statement earrings and hair up. I had literally nothing suitable in my wardrobe to wear for such an occasion (blame COVID and a recent mat leave!) and at a pinch (and on a budget) his did the trick.
However I'm wondering if there are other ways I can style this? It sort of feels like this dress should be a useful wardrobe staple but I don't quite know what to do with it!
I'm early 40s, slim, slight pear shape if that helps, and I'm still finding my style again after the pandemic and more or less regaining my figure after a baby. but i feel like styles have changed quite a bit in the past few years and I sometimes struggle to innovate with my wardrobe in the way I used to. I always used to be able to put together interesting outfits by repurposing stuff iny wardrobe but I sort of lost the knack!
