Pics of teeth - bonding or invisalign as well?

Hiya MN, appreciate advice from the collective hive mind.

Pics of teeth attached. I'm unsure whether to do invisalign or just bonding.

Bit of background. I had braces when I was 15-19. I gave up in the end and said take them off, as they took so long, I thought they looked okay. Obviously never as perfect as I would have liked straightness wise.

I've recently been whitening them with trays and am 2 weeks into 3 weeks of gel. Pretty pleased with the colour. I may buy a 4th tube then go to top ups.

Pic 3 is natural smile. I have 2 small indents on the front two teeth hence why I'm thinking composite bonding. It was actually an old dentist who mentioned it which is slightly annoying as obviously they are selling stuff and I'm not sure I'd have thought about it otherwise, or if I would have still thought about it. In any case I think once you start with these things...I probably would have had the conversation with a dentist at some point. The other thing that slightly bothers me is they are a bit uneven with tiny tiny chips on the bottom of the front two and I think bonding will help that. I suppose if I am really critical on left side on screen the two to the right of the front two are shorter.

Question one. Will bonding improve the chips?
Question two. How many teeth am I looking at doing?

Pic 2. This is a forced smile to show the bottom teeth which are a mess haha.

Pic 1. This is my biggest grin.

Question three. Is there anything to improve the bottom row of teeth and therefore how the smile looks in this pic?

I mentioned invisalign in the title. My front right sits slightly back from the front left. It actually used to sit behind but the braces improved that.

Question four. Would bonding sort this unevenness between the front two or is invisalign needed? Does invisalign have to come before bonding?

Thanks in advance for any experiences and thinking points to consider.

Sorry OP, I don't have any advice as your teeth look like a perfectly normal set of teeth. You don't need to do anything!

NotAPartyPerson · 01/01/2025 17:05

I would absolutely, genuinely, 100% love to have your teeth OP.

Thinkingofaholiday · 01/01/2025 17:05

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with them. They’re straight and even. Would you rather they looked like piano keys.

Bonding alone would make them perfect. I do agree you have lovely teeth but 100% bonding if you’re going to change them.

I’d say bonding for the front four as the front two alone can jar a bit. But check with the dentist. Usually they will do a consultation that is refundable against the cost of the full work.
I’d leave your bottom teeth — they are fine and you don’t see them much anyway. They will require Invisalign first I suspect which will hold everything up and be pricey. Not a dentist myself though.

I can recommend not composite bonding, i had it after a failed metal brace , that I should never have been 'given' you can't tell I had my teeth straightened.
Looks shit, too thick, too short too square and it doesn't sit well along the gum line. I'm getting mine removed, but have to wait due to surgery/pain meds/blood thinners & mobility to allow.

Your teeth look like normal teeth , not like "turkeyteeth" which mostly looks like super white dentures. (Imo)

Your teeth are lovely op. Very natural shaped... No dentist or cosmetic place can recreate that effectively... Leave well alone imo!!

mrpinkwhistlescat · 01/01/2025 19:05

I think your teeth look lovely, but I understand about wanting things to be even better ( I have aligners at the moment).
I would advise you to go to a good cosmetic dentist, and have an assessment: they will tell you what can be achieved, and how to go about it.

GoingOffScript · 01/01/2025 19:16

You have great teeth! I’d say Invisalign and whitening. You don’t NEED it though.

Glitchymn1 · 01/01/2025 19:30

I have bonding on my two front teeth (chipped them). Really happy, dentist took ages doing it but it’s a good job.

Depends what you want, a natural look or obvious Turkey teeth. Your teeth look naturally healthy and white, I’d leave them alone.

Thanks so much for all the replies. It's made me think carefully about spending money. Will carry on with whitening and see.

Your teeth are how teeth are supposed to look. The front four top eg the two middle longer than the two at either side. This gives a youthful impression as opposed to people who end up with teeth all the one length which look false.
