imagine Rivals that’s my friend tall, blonde and very glam. I’m not my best and have been living in oncology fashion mainly Hush casual. We’ve decided to go away when I have a break end of Jan. where can I buy clothes from? Help!

Where are you going, what kind of clothes do you like, and what size are you?

Havalona · 31/12/2024 18:20

Be yourself and wear what you feel good and comfortable in. I have a friend like yours and honestly i dont even TRY to keep up with her, not that she's always in front of the mirror either, she's just naturally glossy etc.!

What type of clobber do you like?

If I'm reading your OP correctly it seems you have been down the C route. Sorry to hear and hope you're doing OK.

I’m still down it appointment is with the consultant on the 22nd to decide the next plan. It needs shifting. She’s booked us to go to Costa adeje on the 24th. I just wondered where to buy bits.

I like the Revolve app. River Island also usually have nice linen/wide leg trousers and light dresses.

If the weather will be nice and sunny and it usually is in Tenerife in January/Feb then summery bits will be hard to find here now. However, I have bought some very nice bits for hols on Amazon, great at this time of year for out of season stuff. Unless Amazon goes against your religion that is lol!

EachandEveryone · 01/01/2025 21:41

I would look on Amazon but I don’t know what to search for. I can’t swim because of my lines which is a pain so I need a nice cover up I guess

Next, John Lewis, Boden, Massimo Dutti and Debenhams have loads of summer clothes online. Also, if you look in the sales section of most shops they will have discounted summer gear.

It'll be nice but not hot, we always used to go at this time of year and it's pleasant in the sun but often a little overcast and def not summer holiday wear type of weather.

It very much depends what you like, I'd be looking for maxi dresses maybe a bit more light Jersey than cotton. I've had nice ones from Boden, Monsoon and Phase Eight.

A cashmere or similar weight wrap to stick in your bag in case it gets chilly?

Wide leg cotton trousers with a structured but loose fitting top?

Jumpsuit in a smooth fabric could be day or evening wear.

At this time of year I think I'd shop on Vinted and look for new with tags. The shops got rid of the summer stuff in the autumn sales.

Vinted

I really don’t get the love for One Hundred Stars. One size does not fit all in my case. And I’m a 16. And it goes ragging after washing.

I’d shop on Shein for a trendy 2-piece flared leggings/jogging bottoms with a matching waist/cropped zipped hoodie.

Plus a well fitting flared or boot cut pair of jeans and some nice trainers.

Get a shellac mani+pedi, oversized sunglasses and a stack of t shirts in flattering colours and cuts from good old M&S.

Have a lovely time and I hope you feel better x

I went to Egypt in December so similar weather. Daytimes are pretty easy - just clothes to wear around the pool. I alternated beach dresses and denim shorts with tops.

I honestly thought people would be dressed up for evenings but no one really was apart from one night at an a la carte restaurant. I wore dresses and ending up putting a hoody over the top as it was chilly in the evenings. Also just jeans and a shirt.

I got bitten a lot but that may just be Egypt.

Next, Pour Moi, Accessorise.

MessyNeate · 02/01/2025 00:19

Ohh I'll be there at the same time as you!

I take shorts and vest tops, cardigans/small jackets. We went at the beginning of Jan last year it was about 26/27 degrees,

Summers dresses likes this... for evenings with a small jacket/cardigan. Or I wear jeans/ leather trousers

Uniqlo and Cos.

Have you been to Costa adeje before? I’ve been to Las Americas in my very distant youth. I don’t think I will be taking my friend to Linnekers bar 😀😀
