Looking to buy a nice, luxury crossbody bag.
Happy to spend up to a few thousand on the right bag. (no comments on cost please).
I'm usually a mulberry, coach, aspinal person but fancy something else.
I'm fussy though so got some requirements.
Must be:
Crossbody (chain or leather strap)
Smallish (max 25cm wide)
Leather (I like pebbled or soft leather)
Silver hardware (important, I don't wear gold) or has to be very minimal gold.
Prefer rectangular style of bag
Looking at gucci, ysl but not sure what the quality is like.
Any suggestions of suitable bags please?

Saint Laurent Lou Camera bag, Louis Vuitton Marelle bag in epi leather, Gucci Blondie.

Bottega veneta

@Britpopbaby I don't mind preloved at all and the pink one looks lovely and a bit different from having another black bag but probably more than I wanted to spend.

@sphynx I have been considering ysl lou but seen mixed reviews on quality, it's the style I like though

Honestly I'd get a coach tabby and spend the rest of the money elsewhere!

The coach tabby bags are lovely quality, fit loads, perfect crossbody and come in different sizes.

I've found YSL / LV / Prada / Gucci etc quality is really going downhill whilst prices are going wild. Honestly my coach bags for £4-500 are better quality than the newer £2-3k ones!

Apparently very good, saw a TikTok the other day of someone with one which was over a decade old and looked great. She was saying she’d used it a lot.

@TTPDTS I'm not a fan of the tabby but do agree that coach bags are well made, I've got some that I've had ages that still look brand new.

Bottega Venetta definately. I’ve got two. A new little one I wear out and at concerts etc & an everyday 2nd hand one. The leather on that is so soft & you can see it’s so well made.

my other bag is a Mulberry

Loewe small or mini puzzle?

asparagusffern · 30/12/2024 17:51

Jerome Dreyfus do lovely crossbody bags. I gave my mum one for Christmas about 5 years ago. She uses it daily and it still looks as good as new

smooththecat · 30/12/2024 18:27

I’d go for the Loewe Flamenco.
