Leather leggings… is there a way in 2025?

Just that really! I know I can wear whatever I want, and I don’t always follow trends but wearing leather leggings at the moment feels really outdated. Is there a way of wearing them that would feel a bit more current?

Oh dear, does it?? I just ordered my first pair in the sale but they were still very expensive. They look like skinny leather trousers (vs. leggings as such), which I think of as a classic item that doesn't really date.

I think what you wear them with makes the real difference in terms of looking current.

Personally, I think they can look a bit dated, especially when worn with an oversized jumper.

Have you tried them with a frilly/embroidered blouse? That might help update them a bit. Although I can see the waistband potentially being a problem, tucked in looks better, but a legging waistband on show never looks good...

Options to consider, modern minimalist loafer, fitted crew neck top in same colour as leather leggings and an oversized blazer. Chunky flat ankle boots and a loose fitting soft knit polo top, slightly tucked in from the side to have some asymmetry. Open back mocassins and cropped stripey shirt that sits just by the waistband (alternatively very oversized man shirt style with it tucked in at the front, just one shirt front or as a French tuck, whatever works best for you). Basically, make it preppy somehow and play with non classical proportions to make it feel new.

Come to my neighbourhood.....anything that isnt joggers, hoodie with a longline puffer gilet over the top is basically the height of fashion!!LOL

(Im paying attention here as Ive a pair of faux leather leggings Ive never worn as I dont know what to do with them).

I like wearing mine with a leopard print shirt, also a sheer blouse with vest under and my turquoise DM’s. Yesterday wore them with Xmas jumper

Loads of good advice thank you! I guess I need to play around with the outfits, I tend to wear my clothes to death so I don’t like being to limited by the trends
