I'm a 12 but it's out of stock. I would try the 10 if it were in stock, but they only have an 8. Any point even trying? I have tried some coats in other shops recently and the styles seem to be quite oversized these days, I fitted an xs in Mango quite easily...

Or should I get the cream?
Very have it in my size with 20% off....

It says the model wears a uk 8. Do you think you look similar sized? Things do tend to be oversized but 2 sizes down is quite a jump.
The cream one is nice!

I’d be more tempted to go up a size rather than down two sizes, especially for a coat.

The 10 in black is in stock when I clicked the link. The cream 12 is out of stock though.

Yep black is in stock again op.

Thanks I've ordered the 10.
Fingers crossed.

I should have been patient, it's come into stock in the 12 now.

I'm a 12 and an 8 wouldn't fit me

I resurrected a very old plain black coat to go to a funeral the other day. It was a bit tight across the bust, but it buttoned up OK. I looked at the label and found that it was a size 10 - I am now an ample 16!

I wouldn't normally even try, but all the coats I have tried on recently have been massive.
I tried on a very roomy xs from Mango the other day, and have just sent back an xs from H&M as it was huge, both of which apparently are the equivalent of an 8.

(I am under no dissolution that I am an 8 btw, it's just everything is really oversized)

Can you order both then take one back? Better than the 12 being out of stock again by the time you get to return the 10 if it's not right...

Ladysmirnoff1 · 24/12/2024 22:40

Have a look on Vinted ?

Eminybob · 27/12/2024 11:35

For anyone interested, the 10 arrived today and it fits fine. I even think the 8 wouldn't have been miles too small.

But...I'm thinking of sending it back anyway as I don't really love it.

This is the problem buying coats on line, it's so difficult to gauge how something is going to look and fit. More so than other clothes I think.
