Clarins flash beauty balm - reviews?

Back in the day of the 'baggers, this was very popular. I was in my 30's then and gave it a go but could see no discernible difference to be honest, so I stopped using it.

Fast forward 20 years and a review I read on Boots says the formula has changed and it's no longer as good. I need something to tighten up under my eyes - I've even debated haemorrhoid cream 😁- does anyone still use it and finds it makes a difference, please? I'm now 53.

I used the old and new one. Not for a long time but long enough to say the new one isn't worth it.

I found it pilled..is that the right word?

The old stuff felt hydrating and really fresh.

The smell of the old one used to make me feel instantly better! I've recently discovered this Korean brand and I love this snail mucin. You can get in uk.

I haven’t used it for years but used to swear by it when I was younger - was thinking of buying some more, so am gutted to hear they’ve changed it. It really used to work! Anyone know why they’ve changed the formula?

Gatecrashermum · 23/12/2024 00:58

It always pilled on me. I never understood the hype!

Cosrx snail is a lot better. I concur.

I used to love it. The trick was to apply foundation almost while it was still wet. But the new formula simply isn't as good.

IDontHateRainbows · 23/12/2024 04:00

I couldn't bring myself to put essential what is slug slime ( snails being close cousins of slugs) on my face.. ugh

I know it's treated in a lab first etc but still!

What is it supposes to do?

I like it as an overnight mask but have never been keen on it as a primer, I need something that hides my pores. I haven't noticed any change in the formula.

Mumteedum · 23/12/2024 10:21

I used to use it instead of make up when I didn't want to wear foundation but wanted to look better. I had pixi one too which was ok. Original flash balm was best.

Mumteedum · 23/12/2024 10:22

For me it's like a your skin but better look or a primer, but I don't really bother with primer. They didn't invent it until I was older anyway so I kind of don't understand primer 😁

Flash balm was used to tighten and brighten the skin, but apparently the formula has changed, according to Boots reviews.

@ToomanyMilesAway Thanks for the recommendation; I've bought some to try :)
